FAQs

Bot Set Up Questions
Does the bot automatically execute trades?

Trading is automated with alert webhooks.  Webhooks communicate trade actions with keywords (variables) specified by the receiving exchange, brokerage, or intermediary.

Does the bot open multiple trades?

Yes, by setting up multiple bots for the same equity.

Each bot controls one asset at a time. It’s designed to open one trade and close one (corresponding) trade at a time.

Pyramiding can allow multiple entries (see the bot’s Alert Properties tab), but the bot will signal an exit without differentiation (closing all open trades within that bot’s control). It may be possible to specify more than one entry and more than one exit at a time, but that’s specific to an exchange or brokerage specific keywords (variables).

Does the bot support shorting?

Yes, it can.  It was designed to signal long entries and exits, but shorting is simply trading when the equity trades at a certain (short) prices. Be sure to back test thoroughly.

Does the bot work on stocks? What about Bitcoin or cryptos?

Yes, you can use the bot on any asset within the TradingView environment.

How do I trade manually?

The bot uses TradingView alerts to signal a trade.  You can set alerts to send emails, SMS messages (texts), or App alerts. Once it signals an alert (entry or exit), you can log into your exchange or brokerage and trade at your discretion.  This is the simplest and easiest way to use the Market Rhythm Bot.

How many bots come with the subscription?

There is no limit except for those imposed by TradingView. You can use as many bot instances as you like.

TradingView Questions
Can I use TradingView’s Trading Panel (to execute trades), without leaving TradingView?

Yes.  In fact, TradingView has many connected brokerages you can use.  Once your brokerage and TradingView are connected, you can execute trades from within the TradingView panel via the Order Panel.

Is a TradingView Account Required?

Yes, the bot runs within the TradingView environment.  You’ll need an account to use it.  Go to TradingView to sign up for an account

Why do I need TradingView to use the bot?

The bot was created as a “layer,” running on top of TradingView.  We would have developed it independently or on another platform if we found a better graphing and data aggregator.

What are alerts?

Within the TradingView environment, ALERTS signal trade entries and exits. Alerts can be setup to text (SMS), email, or issue TradingView app notifications when an indicator signals a trade. The bot uses this same method to signal manual and automatic trades.

What brokerages or exchanges support alerts?

It’s best to consult the TradingView web site to get complete answers to this questions. Visit TradingView.com/brokers to review their list of participating brokers and exchanges.

For Bitcoin and crypto traders, Binance.us supports automated trading via TradingView alerts (using variables via webhooks). Learn more by clicking this link.
